Schools in lockdown after shooting at a factory in Georgia

At least three schools and the county school transportation offices were placed on lockdown in Rockdale County, Georgia, because a shooter was believed still inside a  plant near Atlanta on Friday morning.

At least one person was shot at a food-service container plant. The victim has been taken to a hospital, and his condition is not known.  Police cars with lights flashing were parked outside the Dart Container facility. The plant manufactures and distributes food-service products such as cups, plates, containers, lids and straws, at plants and centers across the countr. Approximately 300 employees work at the Conyers plant. They were evacuated. Police were searching for a gunman who entered the Dart Container Corporation plant. The victim has been taken to a hospital, and his condition is not known.

A person of interest has been identified, the sheriff’s office said. “All of our students and staff are safe,” the school district said in a tweet. “No visitors are allowed on campus at this time.” The motivation of the shooter was not known. Later one person has been detained.
