Philippe Reines, a spokesman for the State Department gave the following official statement: “In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton’s doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago.”

Hillary Rodham Clinton is currently taking medication and she was admitted so that medics can carefully look over her condition and monitor how she reacts to anti-coagulants over 48 hours. Thus the medics will continue to assess her condition and only after this period of time will they be able to say if any further treatment or any other kind of intervention is required.

If everything is OK Clinton should return to work this week after the treatment is finished. As President Barack Obama chose Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry to replace her, Clinton will soon step down from being a top diplomat of the U.S.
