Bob Wilson has never been to Paradise, the California city incinerated by the deadly Camp fire. But reading the news he decided to help in some way. “So they could have some good times and I could put a smile on their faces and maybe lift their spirits,” he said. Wilson personally spent hours in his office preparing the 1,085 checks. On Tuesday night – Giving Tuesday – Wilson traveled to the city of Chico to meet with the students and staff of Paradise High School and delivered the gift himself. „Tomorrow will be better than today,” was his message.

Paradise students and staff expressed gratitude at Wilson’s generosity. Classes for Paradise students will resume being held in a shopping mall in Chico. The fire destroyed most of the schools in Paradise, where the death toll has risen to 88, with many others still missing. At least 5,000 students are estimated to have been displaced.
