Police arrived to the scene to take the suspect into custody. Unfortunately they found the man in a very bad condition. The suspect was bleeding out of his nose and was barely breathing. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died. Although the private security officer immobilized the suspect using a choke hold Police did not make any conclusions and are waiting to find the cause of death.
A Walmart spokesperson later declared to the press that the two Walmart employees were suspended with pay after the incident. The spokeswoman further added that all Walmart employees are trained to get away from these situations and that no amount of stolen merchandise is worth someone’s life.
The private security officer that held the suspect captive until the Police came to the scene is no longer working for Walmart.
