One killed, several injured after an explosion at a hospital in Texas

Team had been working on an expansion/renovation project at the hospital since 2016. It’s supposed and possible that an electrical generator had blown up at the site. Investigators are said to be looking at a boiler room that was under construction. Multiple agencies  responded to the explosion. Some of those injured had suffered severe burns and were taken to the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. One patient arrived in extreme condition with bad burns and also crush injuries to his head and chest. The hospital is requesting blood donations after this incident. All of the victims were construction staff members.

The hospital and nearby nursing homes were evacuated. In a news conference, David Byrom, the hospital’s CEO, said the hospital had been shut down. At least a dozen patients have been transported after an explosion at a hospital in Gatesville. Two nursing homes, the Oaks at Coryell and the Meadows, were evacuated after they lost power following the explosion.
