Many killed in Texas in a gunfire at Santa Fe High school Friday


The gunman was a male who was arrested and secured. A second one was detainedSome patients were transported by helicopter. Students were evacuated from the building and officers in tactical gear were deployed into the school. No further information was immediately available. Witnesses fleeing the scene described a shooter opening fire inside a classroom about 8 a.m., as students ran from the school, jumping over fences and fleeing to a nearby carwash. Santa Fe Police Department were on the scene, along with Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Houston police, Harris County sheriff and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 


The Santa Fe Independent School District issued an update stating:”This morning an incident occurred at the high school involving an active shooter. The situation is active, but has been contained. There have been confirmed injuries. Details will be released as we receive updated information. Law enforcement will continue to secure the building and initiate all emergency management protocols to release and move students to another location. All other campuses are operating under their regular schedules.”President Trump tweeted that early reports from the school “not looking good.” The same school was the site of a false alarm about a back in February.
