There are five people dead and several injured in the Kentucky city Monday following a shooting and the shooter is deceased. He acted alone and had a connection to the bank as a previous employee. The shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. local time at a building that houses an Old National Bank location in the 300 block of East Main. The bank is across the street from the Louisville Slugger field, a minor-league baseball stadium where the Louisville Bats play. Multiple law enforcement vehicles immediately swarmed the scene. Officers exchanged gunshots with that suspect. Eight people including six officers have been taken to University of Louisville Hospital. Two of the victims including one of the officers were in critical condition.

Footage from the scene appeared to show one of the bank’s windows blown out with glass scattered on the ground. “Please pray for all of the families impacted and for the city of Louisville,” Gov. Andy Beshear said in a tweet. Remembering what was happened a witness declared that a man with a lonh assault riffle opened fire on the first floor. Officials urged residents to stay away from the area. The investigation is ongoing. The FBI said its agents were also responding to the shooting.
