Former married woman teacher was arrested for sexual relationship with underaged boy in Florida

Stephanie Peterson Farri, 26, a former New Smyrna Beach Middle School married  teacher, was arrested Wednesday because she is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy. She bought him marijuana. The boy told to investigators she started coming to his home at night, picking him up around 11 p.m. while her husband was at work and bringing him back around 1 or 2 a.m.

The woman also sent him nude photos on social media Snapchat and Instagram. The teenager confessed one day  his mom about the sexual relationship, which began around November and his parents confronted Peterson about breaking it off. When the teacher resumed her relationship with the teen in January, the parents reported her to the policeShe was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and one count of transmission of harmful materials to a minor.

Peterson worked as a science teacher at the school but resigned from her teaching position on Monday. After arrest she is held on $25,000 bail. Investigators are not sure if it’s an isolated incident. In a statement, they have asked anyone with more information to come forward. Peterson began her career in the school district as a substitute in 2010 and became a full-time teacher in August 2013. She started at New Smyrna Middle School in August 2016, according to the school department. Peterson was in divorce with her firefighter husband.
