A man who had Covid married in the hospital after he got off the ventilator, in Iowa

After more than three weeks on ventilator in the intensive care unit at the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, with lung Covid-19 disease, a 28-year-old man decided to marry his fiancee and to have wedding in the hospital. He prepared this to be a total surprise for his loved one.“After coming off the ventilator, you view a lot of things differently in life,” Jonathan Johnson said. “It makes you realize that life is too short,” he added. He married 28-year-old Mariah Copeland. The couple also has a 2-year-old son. “I am so happy it did, so I can spend my forever with the man that I love,” Mariah declared.

The medical team took care of the cake and wedding photography. Jonathan expressed his appreciation, saying the hospital staff was as his real family. The facts surprised the hospital workers too. They work hard to help people and many times the cases have not a happy end. “You see a lot of sadness, and sometimes the end isn’t always what we wanted,” a nurse declared to media. But because a such thing was possible, the nurses and doctors said it was a thing that made them strong and ready to continue again and again. Johnson is at home now but still uses oxygen. He and his spouse plan to have another ceremony after he will fully recover and they will began a new life together.
