Fire personnel and police found the worker, Jose Malena, breathless inside the industrial oven after responding to a 911 call made by the business.
Malena was 62 years old and he worked for Bumble Bee Seafood for six years. After Police’s first investigation it is believed that the man might have been already fatally injured before he was locked in the oven. Plant operations were suspended until Monday next week and until then safety regulator experts investigate to see what violations lead to such an event being possible.
