This is an important day for America: President Joe Biden Inauguration Day. Things will change. The event will be memorable on many levels. Joe Biden as the 46th U.S. presidentJoe Biden as the 46th U.S. presidentJoe Biden as the 46th U.S. president. Joe Biden as the 46th U.S. president, aged 78, is the older president elect in history. The inauguration occurs at the time of pandemic after 400,000 Americans lost their lives to Covid-19. In a somber ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday night President-elect Joe Biden honored them. He and his wife, Jill Biden, watched in silence, alongside Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff. For the inauguration, the capital Washington has been transformed into a fortress with more than 20,000 National Guard troops securing the streets and protecting buildings. Biden hopes to shift the nation’s attention to his agenda.
No doubt his Inaugural Address will echo his campaign theme of unity and healing. Mr. Biden could be the man for this moment. He is a moderate liberal with sympathy for the working class who is inclined to reach across the political aisle. He is expected to correct many bad measures decided by Donald Trump. At the White House, Trump and first lady Melania Trump will not greet Biden and incoming first lady Jill Biden, nor will the couples attend a ceremonial tea. Biden and family welcome their own German shepherds, Chance and Major and possibly a cat to the White House. The 27-year-old Keke Palmer “Hustlers” actress and “Good Morning America” alum will host a 2½-hour program for Inauration. The 22-year-old Amanda Gorman, who was named the country’s first Youth Poet Laureate in 2017, recently tweeted that she is both “honored” and “excited” to give a reading during the program.
