A car has ploughed through pedestrians in Manhattan's Times Square, one dead many injured

A speeding car 2009 Honda Accord plowed into pedestrians in Manhattan's bustling Times Square and stopped only in the intersection of 45th and Broadway . One woman 18 year old was killed and at least other 23 people injured. The accident’s site is at one mile of the Trump Tower. Police cordoned off an area from 41st to 47th streets and from 6th to 8th avenues.

The driver, 26-year-old Richard Rojas of the Bronx, in custody now, has been arrested twice in the past for drunken driving. is being investigated as an accident, a police official said. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Mayor de Blasio rushed to the scene. The President Donald Trump was also informed. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and other city leaders confirmed there is no indication it was an act of terrorism. The car was out of control before striking pedestrians. "There were a lot of people out, enjoying the good day, and then I heard screaming and the car running over bodies," a witness woman told to media. Times Square averaged about 360,000 daily visitors in April, being one of the most visited locations in the world.
