America has a new President. Joe Biden won. He is the 46th president of the United States. Crowds are celebrating in the streets. The Trump campaign is still contesting the process in several states. “Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victory, ” Trump sustains. But the score is 290 / 214 for Biden now. “I am honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed in me and in Vice President-elect [Kamala] Harris,” Biden said in a statement.
At 77, Biden becomes the oldest man ever elected president. He’s also the first former vice president to win the White House since George H.W. Bush in 1988 and the second Roman Catholic in U.S. history elected president. California Sen. Kamala Harris will become the first female vice president. She’ll also become the nation’s second Black candidate. From the moment he launched his campaign in April 2019, Biden focused on what he called a “battle for the soul of our nation.” Americans used“the most powerful nonviolent change agent” at their disposal, the vote, to fight for the nation. President Trump is not accepting the reality. He will address justice. The result has to be confirmed later.
