Three police officers in Cedar Park, Texas, in an Austin suburb, were shot while responding to a call at a home Sunday. The man has barricaded himself in a home with three other family members including a minor. Police have been in contact with the suspect and others inside the house. Multiple law enforcement agencies arrived on the scene. Police later issued an update saying that three officers had been hit, but they are all currently receiving medical treatment and appear to be in stable condition.
The city of Cedar Park also tweeted about the incident and warned its residents to stay inside their homes until the situation is resolved. Hostage standoff continues at Natalie Cove. “This remains a very active scene, the subject is not in custody at this time,” said a tweet from the Cedar Park Police Department. Officers had returned fire but were unsure if the man was wounded. He is thought to be in his 20s and has a history of mental health issues. At 4:30 a.m. Monday, police told residents who lived on Natalie Cove, in the Heritage Park subdivision, to stay inside their homes until they were told it was safe to leave. “We want to end this peacefully for everybody involved,” Police Chief said.
