1,600 flights were canceled at Chicago and Detroit airports in weekend


Across the United States, more than 2,000 flights were delayed on Sunday, according to FlightAware. Additional snowfall was forecast from Minnesota across the Great Lakes on Sunday, heading into parts of the Northeast by evening. On parts of Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The storm had dumped more than half a foot of snow , Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin by early Sunday afternoon.

“This is certainly going to be the coldest air this year,” Weather Channel meteorologist Kelly Cass said.
