A 62-year-old man in Philadelphia was injured in a package explosion

The victim was hospitalized at Jefferson University Hospital . He was listed in stable condition. Nearby neighbors were evacuated from their homes. Police believe the explosive package contained an inhaler. which was known to explode in the past. However, authorities have not said what the official cause of the blast was. “It clearly was sent to that individual. It was addressed to him,” they said. The man works as a caterer. It’s not known if it was a bomb mailed to the house or an accident. Other details about the device were not immediately available but investigators didn’t consider it an act of terrorism. Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were working with U.S. Postal Inspectors and the city bomb squad on the cause of the blast The bomb squad cleared other packages.
