Shooting at Townville Elementary school with three injured

The sheriff’s office says the teen was armed with a handgun. The teen suspect is home-schooled and is not a student at any school in the Anderson Co. School District. He got out of his vehicle and started firing immediately. Now he is in custody. The authorities believe that there are no other suspects involved. A family friend says he was expelled from his school last year for bringing a hatchet to school and attacking a child. There are no racial overtones associated with the incident. Police did not believe terrorism was a factor. The incident is however linked by the police to a homicide at Osborne Rd. where  the father of the suspected shooter was killed. Anderson District 4 Superintendent Joanne Avery said school has been cancelled for the rest of the week.
