The operator of the Scrambler told police that he felt a ‘tingling’ sensation when he was pressing the button to bring the ride to the stop, police said.

All six victims said they felt ‘tingling’ on the ride. They were transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. “The most serious injured had some small burns on the palms of his hands from when he touched the metal railing when he was getting off the ride,” said New London’s Deputy Police Chief Peter Reichard. It is unclear at this time what caused the electrical shock buy detectives identified some electrical issues. The machines are old and used. All rides at Ocean Beach Park will be shut down until the repairs are complete. The Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit will conduct a full inspection.
