Delta flights grounded worldwide Monday after their computers were down

At Los Angeles and San Francisco, passengers on Sunday night’s flights to JFK and Atlanta were taken off planes and led back into terminals to be given blankets and water. The company even hadn’t told them what is happening. Many of them had been waiting hours in line. For flight canceled or significantly delayed passengers are entitled to a refund. The outage ended at about 8:30 a.m. ET, with “limited” resumption of flights, after 300 of them were cancelled. Delta computers failure occurred due to a power cut on its headquarters in Atlanta. Delta ranks third in the world in terms of most passengers carried. The company serves about 180 million customers a year, employing over 80,000 people
