Five victims dead in a train-car collision in Colorado


Two adults and three children were killed. One child, a girl, survived the crash but was airlifted to a Children’s Hospital 180 miles north near Denver in critical condition. Investigators say the crash happened on Las Animas County Road 32 when the family was in way to church. No passengers or crew were hurt of the train but the train was damaged and crews had to make repairs before it could travel again. According the police, alcohol and drug use are not suspected in the crash. the vehicle was not believed to have been stopped in the tracks. The train was carrying 286 passengers, Amtrak officials said. The driver and passengers were all wearing seat belts or restraints.
