Tax over soda introduced in Philadelphia

The soda industry spent millions of dollars in advertising against the proposal. The American Beverage Association called the soda tax “discriminatory and highly unpopular.” Possibly it will be an appeal in court. Lost of some jobs was predicted when sales will go down. The U.S. soda consumption is actually in decline reported to year 2000. There are a lot of arguments for a healthier life style, without sugary drinks. 68 percent of adults and 41 percent of children are overweight or obese nw in Philadelphia.The tax will go up to 1.44 for a six-pack of 16-ounce bottle. It will be included in the fiscal budget and will be collected beginning January,1 next year.
