In the preliminary investigation it appears a front left tire may have malfunctioned or blown out. Three young girls under 18 were killed and other eight, including a toddler, were injured. The toddler, a boy, was found by rescue crews who heard him crying in his car seat in the back yard of a vacant home on the other side of a sound barrier along the highway. He was ejected over a 15-foot high barrier. Medical helicopters and emergency crews from numerous local and state agencies raced to the scene about 6:30 p.m. ET at about 40 miles east of Orlando. Officials said the male driver was coherent and taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Last reports said the child is in severe condition at a hospital. The victims have not yet been identified.
