In addition to the snow, Winter Storm Jonas will also feature strong winds, significant icing and coastal flooding. Some or all of the largest cities in the Northeast – Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York- will be significantly impacted by this storm. At least 1 foot of snow most probable in many areas: eastern Kentucky into most of West Virginia, Virginia except southeast portion, Maryland, D.C., northern Delaware and extreme northwest North Carolina. Accumulating ice, tree damage and power outages are also possible from northeast Arkansas to southeast Missouri, Kentucky, southern West Virginia, southern Virginia, western and central North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina. Strongest wind potential will manifest Delmarva Peninsula, Chesapeake Bay, New Jersey and Long Island Saturday.
