The Space Act of 2015 generates hopes for exploiting moon’s resources

It recognizes and promotes the rights of U.S. companies to engage in the exploration and extraction of space resources from asteroids and other celestial bodies. Planning to exploit space resources from the moon, Moon Express will focus first to locate and learn how to mine and stockpile the water on the moon. Another American company, Shackleton Energy Resources, estimates that there are billions of tons of water ice on the poles of the moon. NASA itself has two different mission concepts for extracting water from the lunar surface Certainly, the space has an economic potential and this became an interest especially for private companies. Private commercial space exploration companies however first need to invest millions of dollars. Their goal will be to recuperate with a profit what they invest.
