“From what we understand, the cars were both moving. One car pulled up next to the other car and started firing rounds into that vehicle,” Officer Simon Drobik told. Medics rushed the girl to University of New Mexico Hospital but she was dead. “This should have never happened. This is a complete disrespect of human life,” Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden told to the media. Unfortunately witnesses have given different information as to a description of the other vehicle that may have been involved. “We have absolutely no suspect information at this time,” Eden specified. The interstate was busy at the time the shooting occurred. Authorities shut down westbound traffic on a section of I-40, one of two freeways running through New Mexico’s largest city. It reopened late Tuesday.
