The unidentified boy was talking to three girls who were outside the window of his mobile home. When he received refuse retrieved his father’s 12-gauge shotgun, shot the girl in the chest from the window, and then threw the weapon outside by the girl’s body. was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. The boy, who was in fifth grade at the same school, will appear in court again on Oct. 28, at which time the judge may decide whether he should be tried as a juvenile or as an adult. The family will receive girl’s friends Wednesday 5–7 pm. They asked for donations to help with funeral expenses at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville. Sheriff McCoig said the boy came from a family with six children. They can not say if he had any mental problems right now.
