Several complaints were filed and forwarded to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission pictures of two females seen sitting on the back of sea turtles in early July. Stephanie Moore was one of them. The person has not yet been identified. Moore was arrested and booked into the Brevard County Jail and is being held on a $2,000 bond. Melbourne is part of a 20-mile stretch of beach along Florida’s east-central coast and is home to the most important sea turtle nesting habitat in the United States. That is why civic leaders are concerned about protect sea turtles and to educate humans about them.
