After a school board meeting last week to debate whether Lila had the right to use the ladies’ facilities in Hillsboro High School in St. Louis, school officials issued a statement that says they will promote tolerance and the district accepts all students regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Lila will continue to use the ladies’ toilet as she is a girl and wants to be treated like one. “There’s a lot of ignorance, they are claiming that they’re uncomfortable. I don’t believe for a second that they are. I think this is pure and simple bigotry,” she argued.
