Firefighters workers went from car to car late Tuesday night. They had to cut through the cars to get some passengers out. Amtrak announced late Tuesday that it was canceling all traffic between New York and Philadelphia, on the Northeast corridor, one of the most heavily traveled in the nation. “It is an absolute, disastrous mess,” Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter said at the crash site. There is nothing to indicate the incident was an act of terrorism but the FBI was on the scene. Amtrak directed people with questions about friends and family aboard the train to call 800-523-9101 for information.
