Nyong’o had a large entourage, including friends of hers, makeup and hair stylists and fitters, and many of them had access to a handful of keycards granting access to her hotel room. The dress was a white Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein gown decorated with 6,000 pearls. In fact Lupita doesn’t actually own the dress, since it was borrowed from Calvin Klein for the award show. The London West Hollywood hotel declined to comment. It’s supposed that the surveillance video cams will offer some valuable information to detectives.It’s not clear if the dress was insured and for which amount of money. Nyong’o, 31, won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar last year and presented at this year’s awards. The last time Nyong’o was seen in the dress in public was before she changed outfits at the Vanity Fair post-Oscars after party.
