According to Maryland State Police the tractor trailer which collided with their car at around 1:15 a.m. had a load of 22 tons. The truck carrying the load crushed and rolled over the car at routes 50 and 213. Zarissa Ayres, 24-year-old Regina M. Ayres, 2-month-old son Jonathan, 7-year-old daughter Jordan, their father and boyfriend of Regina died. The unborn child of Zarissa later died at a hospital in Easton. The truck driver was quickly rushed to a Baltimore Trauma Center.
Zarissa Ayres was staff liaison to the board of directors and administrative office manager at McLean headquarters of PRS Inc. The company helps people who are on the way to recovery from mental illness by providing rehabilitation services. According to chief executive and president of PRS the woman was full of life, smart and terrific. The notice of her death left everybody devastated.
The circumstances of the crash are still investigated. According to initial police investigation there was no alcohol involved.
