Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said the intruder was taken into custody immediately by uniformed agents and K-9 teams that constantly patrol the grounds. He was unarmed at the time of his arrest. However, no information was provided about the motivation of his action. Two dogs suffered injuries during the incident and were taken to the veterinary for appropriate treatment.

The incident was recorded by the video cameras. This was just a month after a previous White House fence jumper sprinted across the lawn, past armed uniformed agents and entered the mansion, incident which led to the resignation of Secret Service’s director Julia Pierson on Oct 1. The actual intruder is in custody and has been hospitalized for unknown injuries. The White House was locked down until just before 9 p.m.
