The ten year-old boy Tristen Kurilla declared simply “I killed that lady” and motivated his action as a replica to fact that the old woman Helen Novak had yelled at him when he entered her room in the home of the boy’s grandfather who was the woman’s caretaker. The boy explained that he grabbed a wooden cane holding it against 90-year-old Helen Novak’s throat for several seconds and punching her in the throat and stomach. The old lady was found death later by the boy’s mother. The boy was ordered to be held without bail and will appear in court October 22. The autopsy discovered a “blunt force trauma to Novak’s neck.” The accusation is of homicide.
