Katherine Lynn Hoover, from New Port Richey, Fla., who was visiting a friend in northwest Brooksville, was transported at a local hospital and then airlifted to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Her unborn child could not be saved even if doctors managed to remove the 5-months pregnant woman’s baby. The new baby was going to be her second son. Katherine survived the night  but passed away the following morning. “ My sister was a wonderful and special woman. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She had just gotten married and was getting herself established,” said her brother, Gary Bryan. Katherine Hoover was a stay-at-home mother. Officers from Hernando Sheriff’s department have launched an investigation into the tragedy. The gun owner, DeHayes, 35 old, has no criminal history but he possibly would face charges of negligence.
