A utility pole on the other side of the street caught fire. Two cars driving were hit by the explosion and engulfed by flame. The five people from inside the affected cars were transported to nearby hospitals. Some of the victims were treated and released. A 42-year-old mother and her 17-year-old daughter were working inside the truck at the time and they were severely burned. As the neighbors said, the truck was parked outside daily. The cause of the explosion was not yet clarified. The four-foot propane tank that exploded was found about 150 feet away in a residential backyard. Captured on surveillance video, the incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 3rd and Wyoming. An investigation is ongoing to ensure that this was an accidental explosion and it wasn’t anything criminal.
