Unexpected feelings for some visitors of the Chicago’s Willis Tower last night

Skydeck’s box is made out of super-strong plates of glass, each weighing 1,500 pounds. This is what almost every visitor is told about before going inside the transparent cage to see the so different panorama. But there is a little detail: the floor of the deck is made from three half-inch thick glass panels sandwiched together with a laminate covered at the surface with a protective layer which is even designed to crack when somebody drops something on it. A spokesman, Bill Utter, said about this story, soon after the Willis Staff was alerted: „Occasionally this happens, but that’s because we designed it this way. Whatever happened last night is a result of the protective coating doing what it’s designed to.“
