The jury was composed of nine women and three men and their identities are kept secret per a request from the feds. They had a long debate, for about a day, before voting the final decision.
The court proved that Abu Ghaith made a propaganda video next day after the 9 / 11 terrorist attacks and persuaded others to participate in the cause of murdering more Americans. The Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara appreciated that “he was more than just Obama Bin Laden’s propaganda minister.” Photos and videos were pieces of evidence presented to the jury. Two convicted terrorists, a New York man and another British one, testified against Abu Ghaith linking him with Al Qaeda propaganda.
His defendants presented Abu Ghaith as playing a minor role and never participating to Al Qaeda planning attacks.
The U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder appreciated the verdict in this case as a “major milestone” in pursuit of justice for 9 / 11 victims.
