The police found a large group of people, some of them sitting on top of one another, in filthy conditions and surrounded by trash bags full of old clothing. They occupied several small rooms with access to a single bathroom. The missing woman and her children were found inside. According the authorities, five men have been arrested.
The investigation will be continued by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE took into custody the people in the home. The illegal immigrants were from Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador. A pregnant woman and a man have been taken to a hospital. A human trafficking operation is supposed to be related to this uncommon situation, Houston being at about seven hours from the Mexican border.
Additionally, the police found on the property hundreds of chickens possibly used in illegal cock-fighting.
