“I feel it is time to get all of this out. I don’t care if people believe me. I just want to get it out”, she said. She also affirmed that she doesn’t want to get out of jail because she will kill again.
She and her husband met the known victim, Troy LaFerrara, through Craigslist. According to her declaration, Miranda offered him companionship for money and after she stabbed LaFerrara in the front seat of her car while her husband held a cord around his neck.
Miranda Barbour declared she wants to plead guilty but her attorney asked a judge not to take into consideration any statement she made after she was charged. Police are investigating the other supposed crimes in collaboration of the FBI. Miranda Barbour offered to draw a map to help the police to find the other victims.
Prosecutors want the death penalty against Barbour and her husband, Elytte Barbour, 22 years old. The judge approved a psychiatrist to evaluate both suspects.
