After transporting a person who left him a $5 tip for a trip from the Cosmopolitan resort to the Palms Place tower, the cab driver observed something like a bag of chocolates in the back seat of his vehicle. He opened the bag in the presence of another passenger and found six bundles of $100 bills, a total of $300,000 cash. He immediately took the money to the transportation company’s main office. The first supposition was confirmed later, the bag was lost by a poker player. After a few hours, the money was returned.
“I’m not waiting for any kind of return. I just wanted to do the right thing and I appreciate what the company did for me”, said Gerardo Gamboa to journalists. He has been a taxi driver in Las Vegas for 13 years.
