This happened a few days ago, when the girl came from school with a bad progress report. The girl reported the abuse to a teacher who alerted the state’s Department of Children and Families. They called the police.
The girl presented many marks on her neck suggesting that this did not happen for the first time. Tuesday, the couple was arrested. Eduardo Montanez was charged for assault, risk of injury to a minor and cruelty to a person. His wife was charged for risk injury to a minor and conspiracy to commit cruelty to a person. They have been ordered to be held in lieu of $250,000 and $200,000 bond. The couple does not have a criminal record in Connecticut but it’s not yet clear if they have been arrested out of state. The neighbors were disgusted to know about the couple’s attitude against the child.
The little girl is now in the state custody.
