What happened in the town of Santa Rosa generated a wave of protests and people from the suburban town have marched and questioned why the deputy really shot on the 13-year-old boy.

Since a minor was shot and killed the Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting its own investigation. According to what is known so far after the ongoing Police investigation it seems that the deputy thought that Lopez was carrying an AK-47 assault rifle when in fact he was actually carrying a pellet gun.

FBI spokesman Paul Lee did not detail any aspect about FBI's involvement in this case.

According to the assistant sheriff the deputy who shot Lopez is a 24-year veteran. He was the one to shoot Lopez and not his partner, who was only recently hired. FBI will of course have a final saying in all of this.
