There were terrifying moments: a land boom in the beginning, issuing flames as buildings went dark and people were screaming from the elevators.
The students on the campus were very impressed: “It was dark. It was pretty scary. We just wanted to get out of there” said one of them, Jesse Kay.
The UK Berkeley spokesman said to journalists that a stolen copper wire was discovered last week and repaired Sunday but probably what happened Monday was another consequence. “Something happened here that surprised the experts. Somebody attacked our system. Somebody stole key parts of our system” said the spokesman Dan Mogulof.
The campus remained closed Monday. Some classes were cancelled. “People aren’t going to come back (…) until a safe situation” say the officials.
