The actual owners, Robert and Criswell Radovan, acquired Cal-Neva in April and now they want to give to the resort a new life. “Our goal is to bring it back to its former glory and to make it what it was like in Sinatra’s day”, said Robert Radovan to journalists.
Cal-Neva Resort, Spa and Casino first opened in 1926. The Casino part of the resort suffered from the recession and was shut down in 2010. Now, this is a multimillion dollar restoration project (the exact value was not revealed).
When the renovation will be finished, after more than one year, the 219 hotel rooms and the 6,000-square foot casino will be upgraded as the facility showroom. Plans are to raise the hotel to 4+ star level. Most of the rooms will offer a new and nice perspective of the Lake Tahoe. “There will be an elegant, clean, pos modern feel to it after we’re done” said Robert Radovan.
On December 12, 2014, the reopening will celebrate a date which would have been Sinatra’s 99th birthday.
