The states with the highest identity theft complaint rate are: Arizona, California, Florida, Texas, Nevada. The lowest identity theft complaint rate were on South Dakota, North Dakota, Jowa, Montana and Wyoming.
Identity theft is however equal as chance anywhere and for every person using debit or credit cards. In most cases the owner of the financial instrument favors himself the infraction to occur. The fraud is usually done using very common PIN numbers on their cards.
The fact is that the worst PINs are those that are overly simple. In a study of Data Genetics were determined the most easy to discover used PINs: 1234, 1111, 0000, 1212, 7777, 1004, 2000, 2222, 6969. At the opposite side, “8068” is at the moment the least used PIN by the American people on their cards.
To have a good PIN and protection from the identity theft danger, the numbers must not have any special significance. There is a good chance that your details will remain encrypted for the hackers. But they will always try.
