Thanks to a hidden camera from the woman’s NJ home police was able to get the video footage of the attack. Parts of the nanny cam footage were sent to public television and were later aired on Tuesday in an effort to use the general public to identify the attacker.

Public individuals and public groups were offered $20000 for any information that might have lead to the arrest of the man. Shawn Custis, the 42-year-old attacker, faces charges of child endangerment, robbery, attempted murder and burglary.

The video evidence clearly shows the last Friday attack. The man was caught on tape as he burst into the woman’s house, kicking, punching and even throwing the woman down the stairs. Police did not make public the names of the woman and of the child who was also present in the house during the attack.
