The police chief of Santa Monica, Jacqueline Seabrooks revealed that they are not going to reveal the identity of the suspect because his family is currently out of the country and yet to be notified.  The police chief further added that the suspect would turn 24 today.  She further added that the suspect had a familial link to a burned house where 2 of the victims were discovered dead on Friday.

The suspect was contacted by the Santa Monica police department back in 2006, but the police chief refused to discuss the circumstance since the suspect was juvenile at that point of time. The suspect shooter and one of the family members were enrolled into the Santa Monica College in 2010.

Dressed in black the suspect was wearing a vest that could carry knee guards and magazines. Before getting shot and killed by the police, the suspect fires shots indiscriminately at 5-7 different locations.
