In February, Wilson is said to have suffered a stroke while vacationing and had since then been receiving recovery treatment. He passed away at 2.30 p.m on Sunday and had his family with him said the officials.
Wilson was the eastern Ohio Rep. for two terms following a write-in campaign win. During the 14 years he served as congressman, Wilson championed for the rights of the southeastern and eastern Ohio people. He is credited for securing federal funding put towards airport improvements, small business growth and the police department. Before his election to congress, from 1997 to 2005 Wilson served in the Ohio House of
Representatives followed by two years serving in the Ohio Senate. In 2006, Wilson was elected into congress filling in Gov. Ted Strickland’s vacated seat. At the moment there is still no news about funeral arrangements.
