The boy who was just 16 years of age shot him. When he realized what he just did the teenager called 911. Although the 12 year old brother was rushed to the Arnold Palmer Hospital there was little that could be done to save the boy. The kid was pronounced dead shortly after arriving to the Emergency Room.
The entire family is devastated. The 16 year old boy was taken to the Police to testify but was not held and won’t be charged with any crime. The parents on the other hand will be reviewed by the state attorney’s office for possible negligence.
Neighbors also found the shooting to be horrifying and devastating. All were in disbelief and feel sorry for the family: One neighbor said: “It cuts deep and it breaks my heart” while others explained that the situation is really heartbreaking and that they can’t possible imagine what the parents are going through.
