After a neighborhood dispute, a man and a woman were critically injured with stab wounds on a suburban street in Sydney’s southwest, Australia.
Emergency services were called to a home on Huntley Place in Cartwright at 4.30pm on Tuesday. Bothe people are dead from their injuries.The man died at the scene. The woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition and she later died. An axe had been involved in the killings. Ofﬁcers placed the street in lockdown shortly after arriving. Superintendent Adam White of Liverpool City Police Area Command said the ofﬁcers had declared a crime scene. A man in a grey shirt and beige pants is in custody.
Chief Superintendent Whyte also said that other residents did not need to worry about their own safety and that it was not a random attack. An investigation into the incident has been launched. Footage of the street showed a number of ambulances and police cars on the scene. ‘It’s very scary, especially when there’s a lot of old people living here,’ a resident said to media.
